Getting to Ecosocialism 2026
Ecosocialism 2026 will be held at the Albion Peace Centre, which is located at 102 McDonald Rd, Windsor and nearby locations.
Public transport
The conference site at the Albion Peace Centre is less than 200 metres from Albion train station. The Airport - Gold Coast line and the Shorncliffe (Sandgate/Northgate) – Cleveland line run direct to Albion.
Several bus routes – 306, 320, 321 and 322 – have stops relatively near the conference site.
Accommodation
Conference organisers have only very limited billeting available for the conference (if you can offer a billet, please contact us).
So you should look at what your options are for accommodation.
We’ve developed this list of paid accommodation options that look good to us, considering cost and access to the direct trains to Albion station. It’s best to call before booking any of these options, especially for questions regarding price, deposits, facilities or anything else.
Miro Apartments and Atrio Apartments
These two apartment hotels are side by side, with the one reception (at the Miro), ten minutes walk from Fortitude Valley station (and then just two stops to Albion station next to the conference venue). Each has one bedroom and two bedroom apartment options (all rooms with queen beds, but with a rollout bed option). We have got quotes for 3 and 4 night, 2 bedrooms, 3-5 person options (4 or more would include a couple in one or both rooms) at less than $100 per night per person – if you want these options, please contact 0437 790 306 to get the quote information to cite. Meriton Herschel Street
This Meriton (we don’t recommend others) has one bedroom (sleeping 2) and two bedroom (sleeping 4) options, with single bed options (instead of the usual king-sized bed). The hotel is about 550m from Roma St station.

Rydges South Bank
According to the Visit Brisbane Website, Rydges Southbank caters to people with a range of disabilities or at least requiring assistance – including an Accessible King Room (sleeps 2) which has an accessible bathroom and doorways. Before booking, it would be best to call and make sure these services are able to be provided. The hotel is about 340m from South Brisbane train station.
Courtyard by Marriott (South Bank)
This hotel’s Premium Quad rooms, sleeping 4, seem to offer a good value option (when we checked, $904 for 3 nights) and is about 560m from Southbank train station.

Hostels
The YHA Brisbane City has got the best reviews. It has options for mixed, male only or female only dorms. It is located 800m from Roma St station.

A lower price hostel, close (360m) to Central station, is Brisbane Quarters, but there is otherwise not much information online about this hostel.
