Ayesha Ahmad
Ayesha Ahmad is a Pakistani socialist-feminist activist, researcher, educator, and labour rights practitioner with over 15 years of experience working on labour rights, gender justice, and climate advocacy. She is an active member of the Haqooq-e-Khalq Party (HKP), where she has served as spokesperson and is part of the executive committee. In this role, she has been closely involved in electoral campaigns and grassroots mobilization on issues such as climate justice, tax justice, and debt justice.
A founding member of the Women Democratic Front (WDF), Ayesha has been deeply engaged in organizing working-class women and advancing campaigns around labour rights, environmental justice, and equitable development. Her political and organizing work is grounded in lived experience and a long-standing commitment to socialist and feminist struggles.
Alongside her activism, Ayesha has over 13 years of experience in university teaching, contributing to critical education on gender, development, and social justice.
Her research includes serving as Lead Researcher for Pakistan in ARISA’s Overworked and Underpaid report (2025), as well as studies on social protection and maternity benefits for women workers. She has authored international publications and presented at global forums including the World Social Forum and the Asia Pacific Peoples’ Convention.
She has trained over 1,500 workers across Pakistan’s garment, textile, and brick kiln sectors on labour rights, gender equality, and workplace harassment, focusing on building worker consciousness and strengthening collective organizing.
Currently, she is associated with the WE Program, a Netherlands-based initiative, where she facilitates worker trainings and contributes to research and advocacy aimed at improving conditions in global supply chains.
At the Ecosocialism 2026 Conference, Ayesha brings a critical Global South perspective, linking climate justice with labour rights and politics.
