Aaron Pedrosa

Aaron Pedrosa, Secretary-General of Sanlakas, a nationwide, multisectoral coalition of grassroots and sectoral organisations in The Philippines fighting for genuine democracy. He is concurrently a member of the Partido Lakas ng Masa (Party of the Labouring Masses, PLM) Advisory Council, representing Sanlakas.

Aaron is a Filipino activist who has 22 years of activism, reckoned from his student years in the University. In 2006, he obtained his degree in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines Cebu College. After college, he took up law and obtained his Law degree from the School of Law and Governance of the University of San Carlos in 2011. He passed the Bar Examination and was admitted to the practice of law in 2013. 

In his activist life, thus far, Aaron had been arrested twice - once as a law student in 2007 for joining a lightning rally at the gates of Malacanang (Presidential Palace)in Manila to protest the passage of the 2007 Terrorism Law, and second, in 2014 as a lawyer defending an urban poor community in Cebu against being evicted. Aaron is holds positions in various networks and coalitions including:

  6. Board Member, Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC)

Aaron is a public interest lawyer-activist who while providing legal representation to marginalized sectors such as workers, farmers, indigenous peoples, fisherfolk, mining and coal-affected communities, among others, does organizing work with the urban poor in Rizal, a neighboring province of Metro Manila.
