Jonathan Sriranganathan (Greens candidate for Mayor of Brisbane): I believe that the Australian government should allow Leila Khaled into the country. I think it is disgraceful that the Australian government is being so hypocritical and inconsistent in terms of how it polices who is allowed into the country. We should be supporting freedom fighters, we should be speaking up against injustice. We should be giving a platform to people who are challenging apartheid and the Israeli genocidal regime. So let’s let these people in and give them a platform to share their stories.
