Freedom vs Fortresses: A conversation with Behrouz Boochani

Kurdish-Iranian activist and author Behrouz Boochani spent more than six years imprisoned on Manus Island.

Peter Dutton proclaimed that Boochani would never set foot in Australia. Today Behrouz is a free person who continues to speak out against the abuse of offshore detention and refugees at the hands of inhumane government policy. His own experiences have been reflected upon in his written work including No Friend but the Mountains and Freedom, Only Freedom.

This session will involve Boochani discussing his views on the barbarity of refugee detention and the importance of fighting for freedom for all.

Behrouz will be joining the conference by videolink (link to livestream). Apologies for the late start and technical issues.

Please note: Ticket holders can watch this workshop session via live-stream.
